Yesterday I attended the Academy of Art University show. Remember the Sneak Peak of the collections? The designers all have different aesthetics, which made the show very exciting! I think that between these 6 graduate students from Academy of Art, there is some great fashion talent!

Below is a quick rundown of the collections- and a quick video I took at the end of the runway show (with all of the looks!):

Hyo Sun (Nicky) An Hyo Sun’s collection was gorgeous and incorporated a lot of unique details I have never seen before. For example, I loved the hanging leather loops which formed a jacket-like top, as well as an eggplant colored jumpsuit with cut-out details at the knees.

Sabah Mansoor Husain Sabah mixed knit textures with sparkling details, and the result was a collection worthy of a double take. Mixing the girly glam of gems and crystals with dark knits and modern cuts, the collection was gorgeous and would attract a wide variety of fashion fans.

Bethany Meuleners From mesh and lace to chiffon, Bethany’s collection was full of delicate layers in deep purples, greys and blacks. She also threw in a few metallic details, which really made the collection stand out.

Steven Oo Steven showed a fantastic collection of knitwear with edgy details. From knit spikes on the shoulders and back of the designs to draped/hanging knit sleeves, the collection took knitwear design to a new level. Who knew a “cardigan” could be so trendy?

Marina Solomatnikova Marina’s collection was a combination of suede suits, jackets and skirts in a pastel palette. The items were all form fitting and feminine, and would be great for work or play. Influenced by Georgia O’Keefe’s paintings, the collection featured great layering effects and a great dress with a fanned frontal detail.

Naomi Sutton Naomi was influenced by her prairie-style upbringing in Minnesota. The models wore Amish style hats with intricately detailed, silky layers. The lacy looks were complimented with army-style boots.
